MEETING MINUTES

1.        Call to Order

The Special School Board Meeting for School Board Member/Superintendent Roles and Responsibilities Training was called to order on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at the Louisiana School Boards Association Office at 8:50 A.M.

2.        Roll Call

The following board members were in attendance:  Ms. Atkinson, Ms. Browning, Dr. Gardner, Dr. Holmes, Ms. Powers and Dr. Walker.  Ms. Foil was absent. Also present was the Superintendent, Dr. Jason Fountain, the Assistant Superintendent, Mr. Chandler Smith, and two (2) members of the Community, Mr. David DeLaughter and Mrs. Jamie DeLaughter.

3.        To participate in a School Board Member/Superintendent Roles and Responsibilities Training facilitated by the Louisiana School Boards Association.

Ms. Janet Pope, Executive Director of the Louisiana School Boards Association, facilitated the School Board Member/Superitendent Roles and Responsibilities training. Discussion was held on the General Power and Duties of School Boards regarding the selection of the superintendent, budgets and policies. Also discussed were Basic Requirements for Successful School Boardsmanship and Common Errors Board Members make. This was a training session only and required no action.

4.        Adjourn

There being no further discussion, the meeting was adjourned at 1:00 P.M.
